The scientific study Future Age H2020 designs and develops a personal protection system based on an air bag, which can give an effective response to the consequences of tumbles. Future Age H2020 will act protecting the most sensitive parts of the fracture in the elderly and children.
The development will allow us to decline the prototype on different subjects both in orthopedic pathology in the age group failing, to offer protection to those parts of the body exposed to the fall and thus avoiding fractures.
They will be considered not only the falls of the elderly but also the demands of people suffering from neurodegenerative diseases, epilepsy and other pathologies who expose individuals to tumble frequently.
The model-prototype Future Age H20202 will be conditioned by the following specifications: low weight, high comfort, ease of management and acceptability of the device by users.
For the realization of Future Age, we are collaborating with the company Dainese – section airbag – specialized in the production of protection of the body in sports competitions and in motorcycling.
Medical and scientific collaboration:
The development of the prototype is a collaboration of specialists in Orthopedics, Occupational Medicine, Geriatrics, Neurosurgery, and Neurology relating to the Company University Hospital of Bologna Policlinico S. Orsola-Malpighi Hospital, University of Bologna and the IRCCS Institute of Neurological Sciences from Bologna. The joint work of these professional experiences will allow to find an effective protection with the help of technology.
